Gift giving can promote Preparedness

November 23, 2012

Before Christmas, two years ago, I gave my pragmatic, don’t-bother-me friend a list of dry and dehydrated foods to choose from for her holiday gift from me. “They’ll last on your basement shelves many years,” I smiled, “but if you need them next year you’ll be happy you have them.” She chose pinto beans, flour, rice and oats. We stacked six #10 cans on the top shelf in her basement pantry. She stepped back and surprised me with a sincere, “They look nice up there.”

Gifts that are PREPAREDNESS-ORIENTED are a wonderful consideration for holidays, birthdays, even weddings. Here are some examples

We love preparing Jam in the summertime and giving out as Christmas gifts in December! It’s a great way to be “prepared” for the busy holiday season in our home, and besides – who doesn’t like sweet homemade jam, at any time? Easy, fun, delicious.
