Cooking on the Palouse, now “Cooking and Living on the Palouse”

… began in June, 2012, as a resource for content coming out of that summer’s cooking classes held in the Moscow, Idaho, and Pullman, Washington, areas called the “Palouse.” The first wave of information focused on basic food preservation and home storage: methods, recipes, tips, etc.

The links to online food preservation (water bath canning, pressure canning) are not only useful for individuals, but are a good resource in planning group presentations.

POSTS relate to cooking AND living in our families and communities. Ideas on basic preparation for life’s emergencies as well as seasonal topics are part of the subject matter. I am particularly fond of the Power Point presentations we added on Youth Employment and Personal Health, after our fall, 2014 Self Reliance Workshop.

Cooking and Living on the Palouse is a private blog. Any content, including tips, guidelines, and recommendations, are not intended to represent official statement on behalf of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Nancy Heward is the primary contributor to this blog. Please feel free to leave comments, questions, or suggestions at the end of any post. She will happily respond.
